The trap is in the hall thing between the kitchen and the wet room where I always feed them.

The food is inside the trap but it is not set, I don't want to trap them until Sunday.

They have each been in and had a look but neither has eaten any.

I think I might leave the back door open tonight so they can come in and eat with no company.

Good luck, hope the trapping goes well and the cats realise on what side their bread is buttered.

I have watched them grow as strays.

The tabby one used to be around with it's mother and we have watched the black one grow into it's ears. It looked like it had borrowed somebody elses for a while.

Well, if they're adult cats there's every chance they've been done.
Cats can just decide they don't want to be where they are and b*gger off. I've had 3 do it (all spayed, one microchipped).
One moved in down the road, aged 16!!
She preferred the company of a couple of pensioners to my toddler niece.

She was sensible :-D

The charity pays a good whack toward having their pockets picked or whatever.

I have made use of this before but have always managed to pay the difference back to them eventually. I feel that, if you can't budget around what they need, then you shouldn't have pets.

They never seem to turn up when I have enough extra money to get them seen to. They probably know this and hope it will let them get to keep the bits they are quite fond of.

Good luck!!

It will definitely be good luck for them if they decide to stay with you :-D

They each come at a different time so I hope to catch them both on the same night.

Need to get another dirt box because I doubt they will share that.

Mustn't forget to lock the cat flap.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 15 Jul 2015 21:02

Brilliant! :-)

are you going to try to trap both (separately)?

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Jul 2015 20:54

I have contacted the charity and it looks like I will be having the trap on Sunday.

Watch this space.

Sharron

Sharron Report 14 Jul 2015 23:08

Not here.

The cat rescue charity has a trap. It is big enough for the cat to walk about in and you put it where you feed them with the food inside.

When they go in they tread on the thing that closes the door they came in through.

It's all legal and they ask for an enormous deposit on the trap too.

You need a hunting licence if you trap anything, unless you are an First Nation.

DO YOU HAVE A HUNTING LICENCE?????? :-D

Sharron Report 14 Jul 2015 22:49

I have always had a trap in before, even after I had been out there communicating.

maggiewinchester Report 14 Jul 2015 22:10

Take them some cheese?
Fish?
Sardines?
Something smelly and tasty, and sit down near them (with a hidden supply of the treat) They may come near you and you can throw it vaguely in their direction, or even give it to them!.

They obviously aren't frightened of you - just a bit unsure.

Sharron

Sharron Report 14 Jul 2015 21:46

I have never been close enough to stroke either.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 14 Jul 2015 21:36

Try to stroke them at the same time, and get the smell of each cat onto the other - so they know you want both of them.

Sharron

Sharron Report 14 Jul 2015 21:04

What about the other one?

GinN Report 14 Jul 2015 21:00

Sharron - just put a litter tray where Desmond's used to be, and I think you'll have your new cat - looks like he's trying to tell you something :-D

The garden would have caught it quite well. It hasn't done it too badly up until now.
