Sharron Report 28 Jul 2015 21:39

They have come in together tonight to get their meat which I think might be a good sign and I think they are looking into going into the wet room.

They must be in conference, deciding if I am suitable to give them house room.

Tabitha Report 27 Jul 2015 13:53

I am obviously known in the cat neighbourhood as a “soft touch” one auditioned me for a slave 2 years ago & agreed in the end to move in

As he was the lone house cat - the other “cat” visitor only popped in & out so was just tolerated & still is except when he decides to stay & curl up for a nap - he gets removed & I get told off

Our new master appeared to be a very friendly obliging master at first eating anything that was prepared & being very friendly & willing.& accepting treats & toys at will and playing with us when he wanted to

Now he is being fussy & nipping me when he feels like it with the occasional swipe if the fancy strikes him & very vocal in his ideas

I now have another one trying to audition - who happens to belong to a friendly neighbour who does not take a lot of interest in him - Poor little thing just wants some love & somewhere to sleep away from their dog

He thinks we are a soft touch – except our lord & master has other ideas & chases him off if he can. I then get complaints & telling off by the master of the house for even considering being friends with the “other cat” My lord & master spent over 10 minutes yesterday Yowling & speaking to me about the situation – i got a real telling off & he would not sit on my lap last night

Have i learnt my lesson - no - not while the other little sweetie with a very cute face & sad looking eyes - looks through my window & appears to cry at me when i tell him he can’t move in & has to go to his own home - it makes me feel so sad

I want to tell my neighbour to look after him but know they won’t take any notice of me - i am far too soft hearted where animals are concerned

I even feel guilty when i don’t have any scraps to feed the seagull who comes for a visit & pecks my window for food as the other half a dozen cats from various other houses have All visited the garden in the last half hour to see if there is anything good they don’t get in their homes

Neither of them has been round today.

I suppose my meat is not good enough.

But you are at liberty to acquire any cat you want from any place you choose.

I have already been chosen as staff for a time that suits them.

I have only eve been able to go and choose a cat for myself and then I walked into the RSPCA shed to be greeted by a spotty belly running up the door with it's owner enquiring as to why I had not been to find him before.

Cats don't do restrictions .... if you want to be dominated and poorer give him time to make his mind up that you are a suitable victim and he won't risk a shut-in which may end up badly all round.

My junior cat ( who I rescued from a junkie ) died just 4 years ago this week. I still miss him like crazy and so does Snr.cat. Sadly we have nobody auditioning.

good luck <3

If it had eaten or drunk while it was in here I would have kept it in but I think it was all too much too soon for it.

They sure do.

I think I might have been getting ideas above my station.

Cats always do things on their own terms ;-)

Sharron

Sharron Report 22 Jul 2015 12:41

All may not be lost.

I have not been in the right frame of mind or body to deal with a stray cat for a couple of days so the trap has been outside the back door and the food plate put inside night and morning.

This morning I saw the tabby come across the road so I went to the back bedroom window to watch it come round and eat the meat.

It then sat looking at the back door for a while. I think I might have it open in the morning because I am wondering if the cat does want to come in but on its own terms.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 20 Jul 2015 23:01

There's also the problem, that if another cat was brought in,(with the 2 'auditionees' still around) it may cause aggression.

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Jul 2015 22:16

Because there are a couple who have been auditioning since before Desmond died.

I have been feeding them for some time and have always intended to take them in when the time is right.

If it's not a daft question, Sharron, why not take a cat from a local rescue centre? They are trained and wanting a home :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Jul 2015 18:35

I think so. It certainly doesn't go with the sofa!

You may have caught the wrong tabby :-S

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Jul 2015 18:12

Yes, and I think there is another tabby one out there.

I will find one the colour I like eventually.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 20 Jul 2015 18:06

Are you going to try for the black one?

Sharron

Sharron Report 20 Jul 2015 17:51

I have given up on that one.

Had it booked into the vet but when I came to catch it I couldn't find it.

Have spoken to the vet and the charity and the chances are that it may have been neutered and it clearly doesn't want to live here so I am leaving the door open so it can take it's leave.

There will still be food left out for it but I won't force it to live where it doesn't want to.

Jane Report 20 Jul 2015 17:42

Sharron,I hope you managed to catch him/her and made it to the Vets :-D.It sounds like you have quite a job on your hands .
We have had a cat now for 2 months.he is not Ferral but has been living rough for some time He has obviously belonged to someone as he has been neutered .Maybe he was dumped. But today I have taken him to the vets to get him microchipped and vaccinated.I think he has now gone off in a huff lol.Probably will come back with some 'kill' :-S
