I remember taking a friends children to Cadbury World not very long after it first opened and being delighted with the price and the chocolate we brought home.

I have had a look since first posting this and don't think I would be as delighted now.

If anyone is accompanying a disabled person and the website doesn't make it clear about concessions then always give the attraction a ring.

I did this for the Tower of London a couple of years ago and was told by the most cheerful and competent telephone advisor I have ever dealt with that my son would go free and I would pay a reduced entrance fee as a carer....We had a fantastic full day there :-D

The only attraction that I have ever visited that does not give any form of concession (OAP, disabled etc) is the Bluebell Railway :-|

Will it have the world flocking to partake of the attractions that Sidcup has to offer to the world weary traveller or could you go to other places?

Dunno Sharron,
This morning I pulled out all 4 tickets from my pocket before putting the clothes into the wash.
It was only then that I noticed the difference in price!

Was it some sort of Tourist Board of Sidcup promotion?

I like a bargain too and often download money saving vouchers.

Last Weekend

We travelled from Glasgow to London.
We then purchased 2 single fares from Euston to Sidcup.
On the return we purchased 2 single fares frm Sidcup to Euston.

The return trip cost almost £15 more???
Is it more expensive for Sunday travel?

Dinosaur Trail and Adventure playground - much more exciting for a 4 year old than McD's. That treat, if it is one, can wait for a rainy day.

If anyone intends to have a day trip somewhere by train, its worth checking if there are any associated 2 fers attraction entry tickets on offer.

Don't rule out EH or NT properties - if grandparents are members they may be able to take children in for free. Both organisations run child-centred activities during the holidays. Check when, what and where.

Alternatively take 4 yr old to McDo's which he would prob. prefer anyway.

Lucky to be able to take a picnic.

We went on one of the little cruises the Gosport Ferries do in the summer. You either had to order the Ploughman's Lunch things they provided, which were not very tasty and made of the cheapest ingredients, or buy their sandwiches.

Bringing your own food on board was not allowed.

I took the four-year-old to Knebworth House today. Looking on their website, I saw mention of a 2 for 1 voucher, so I downloaded one and saved myself £9.50p. There are no concessions, everyone over the age of two pays £9.50, so if I hadn't seen the offer it would have been nearly thirty quid. Another tip if you go, take a picnic. The food on offer is limited, not cheap, and not very good. Everything else about the place though is fantastic.
