I can see how the early Irish families had different spellings of the same name, due to literacy but, my mum and he brother were born in the 1930's!
They went to the same school but still spelled their last name differently.
Something to do with the northern accent?
The earlier generation?
On the 1901 Irish census they were Carr but at 1911 they were Kerr

Must be an Irish thing........ my gg grandmother's grandparents were Irish.... and their 8 children use different versions of the surname. A nightmare to find them.

Sadly not LadyScozz.
My mum was the Kerr/Carr in our family.
She was Irish. Born in Donegal with no Scottish roots.

Her family weren't even certain of own name.
Mum, the eldest was always a Kerr. ( name on Birth, death and marriage certs)
Her younger brother was always a Carr ( Name on Birth and Marriage certs)

Oh yes....they were FULL siblings. ?!

03331553797
An overseas call centre calling themselves Home and Lifestyle.

My call log over a 2-3 days period, showed 15 received calls
10 of them came from this one number.
I answered the last 3 calls telling them that I do not take part in Telephone Surveys and to please take my number off their calling list and stop calling me.

All 3 male callers told me the same thing.
"We will stop calling ONLY when you answer our questions"

I reported them to Offcom.
This comes under bullying and harassment

That was a week ago, and they have rung my number twice since then....I didn't answer and I have now blocked the number.

A few months ago we came home to find a message for OH on the answering machine. It was a woman claiming to be from the post office and asking OH to ring her as soon as he got the message. The number she gave was a mobile number which seemed a bit dodgy for a start. So next day OH went in to the nearest main post office to report it.

Guess what? It was genuine, though not exactly urgent. She was cold calling to try to sell us a post office investment. It was suggested that perhaps she should leave a clearer message and a proper post office number that we could check, and that she shouldn't be making a cold sales call to anyone registered with the TPS anyway. She just seemed bemused. I shouldn't say it but one or two of our local post office staff do seem a pearl or two short of a necklace :-D

DH took the email to the Post Office. They said they had a number of queries/complaints from local residents, I think our printout is the first one they saw.

As I thought, it's nothing to do with Australia Post.

:-(

Yes, the dog's name is Dick :-D :-D

It's 4.08am and I can't sleep ~ again.

Switched on the computer and checked emails.

A weird email, supposed to be from Australia Post.... it arrived at 1.42am local time

We've never given our email address to Australia Post.

The email has our first names, but not our surname.

It reads.......

A mailman did not deliver item.

The courier did not redeem the item to your place for the reason: you were away.
Print out the package info then go to post office to collect the packet.

What a load of rubbish.

We haven't ordered anything, we haven't been "away".

And....... I really believe Australia Post wouldn't sent anything with so many errors!

Who would believe the post office would charge the recipient for holding a parcel?

:-0

I've printed the email, and will take it to the post office asap.

No, I didn't download the label.
