According to the parish magazine there will be :-

a collection of cold cuts

salads
pickles
bread and butter
preserves
scones
fruit loaves(with Wensleydale cheese)
curd tartsand cakes,

all washed down with copious amounts of tea.

Can't wait!

I'm fascinated by this. Can somebody tell me what would be served at a Yorkshire High Tea? I'm thinking it's something I should do for my Canadian children and grandchildren.

I shall try to find a white rose tomorrow. Ah, Yorkshire. God's own country. Apart from Catterick Garrison. Mind you, I had some fun with Yorkshire lasses while stationed there in 1964.

Oops! I'm a day early.

Thanks, Joan, for the history lesson.

Today is Yorkshire Day? I was born & bred there, I should have known but here in Canada I've never heard of it.

Because of our heat wave I was just planning on having tacos for supper. I don't suppose I could get away with calling that a Yorkshire High Tea?

We are going to a Yorkshire high tea.

It is a fundraising event in the village (our village, West Sussex) and is in honour of Yorkshire Day would you believe?!
