There are now reports or suppositions that had Cilla been found quickly she might have been saved, which will be hard for the boys to know, if they haven't already thought it.

I am 68 now and whilst my body is letting me down sometimes, my head still thinks I am much younger. I don't like getting older but I hope I will be around for a good few years yet. As far as I am concerned, 72 is too young to die if you can still enjoy life!

Apparently she was knocked unconscious when she fell so would have felt nothing I hope. Of course we can't know for certain I do realise that before Erroll leaps in!!!

Erroll we 70+ year olds prefer not to think of ourselves as old. Like good wine we consider ourselves mature thank you.

My daughter worked has a shopper at heathrow and Cilla asked her to get some toothpaste for her and walk down to the plane she told her it was her first trip after losing Bobby. My daughter got her autograph for me.

When my 25 year old granddaughter was a baby every time Cilla came on the television she would say nanna's on the tele not because we looked aliked but we both had red hair (mine is real)

I remember getting Cilla's autograph outside the BBC Shepherd's Bush studio, c.early 1970's. That made my day.

Unlike a few of her contemporaries, she died much too soon but with character intact & unblemished. RIP.

Don't think she was in her bedroom

The report says she was sunbathing ..

Her son lives nearbyin his own villa

and so the conspiracy theories start

Well I think 70 is young these days maybe not 20 years ago but people are living a lot longer now I know a lot of people in their 90s and 1 lady I knew lived till she was 106 another one I know is 102 this month.

what I was really wondering about Cilla is why did she lock her bedroom door.

She didn't die alone - she hit her head and had a stroke - apparently.
She knew nothing about it so she didn't sit there thinking she was alone, surely?
Also, she has not "gone so young" - she was in her seventies. 40 is young. So is 50, even 60 but 70-odd is not considered a young age to die.

It must be so hard for her son, who apparently had to break down her door to check on her when she didn't appear after her siesta. He probably wonders if he had checked her earlier or got in the room quicker he might have saved her or been with her instead of her dying alone. I hope she didn't know anything after she fell.

I suppose it was her time but sad that she has gone so young, despite saying she didn't want to live past 75 or die a lingering death.

Such a shame she died on her own but at least it was quick and she wouldn't have felt anything.

I agree with you Shirley, but has you said she did not suffer which must be a comfort to her sons when they get over the shock, my thoughts go out to her sons.

Its very worrying has you get older and you notice little things and even more worrying when you live on your own has I do

Cilla Black died of a stroke after falling over at her Spanish home on Saturday, the coroner has confirmed.
The 72-year-old was sunbathing at her villa in Estepona when she stood up, lost her balance and fell hitting her head, which knocked her unconscious.
She subsequently died of a stroke, and would not have suffered.

So easy to happen when you get a bit older .i worry about my husbands falls and he shrugs it off but I often say but you could injure yourself and that would be that

Such a shame for Cilla and her family
