So Jaconelli and Savile were in it together. How odd that everybody knows about Savile and this is the first I have ever heard of the other one.

well i read it this morning and so i thought i would add it to the thread..

Saville had friends in very high places, even the government of the day, and many a blind eye was turned to the goings on.

That's just it, though, Stella. They won't be in trouble. You can't libel the dead. Very irresponsible.

they must know something or else they could be in trouble for intimating that Heath had something to do with them, i know Jaconelli was just as bad as Saville, they were best friends .Jaconelli ran an ice cream business in Scarborough

That newspaper report may relate to a complaint made against the 3 individuals (as a whole), Savile, Heath and a Jersey States Minister (unnamed at the time) in the 1970s which was not acted upon.

The person who reported was a female witness who spoke with both police and another senator who she has named.

Guinevere Report 6 Aug 2015 11:55

So he shook hands with one bloke during an election campaign. That's all they have?

Very worrying that the press have run away with this. How can the police sort out truth from speculation now?

What did it then Bob?

Well time will tell if it is all true

Guinevere Report 6 Aug 2015 11:50

I can't find any evidence to substantiate that he was "known to have spent time with Savile". Where? When?

All I can find is that heath was on Jim'll Fix It once.

you hardly think of Heath and Saville having any sort of relationship now would you

**Stella ~by~ Starlight**★..★..★ Report 6 Aug 2015 11:35

This is in the Yorkshire newspapers this morning, there is an enquiry going on into it

"The former Prime Minister is known to have spent time with Leeds-born DJ Savile and ice cream company boss Jaconelli, who between them abused dozens of children in the seaside town."

And let's not forget in this country, one is innocent until proven guilty.

Rambling Report 6 Aug 2015 11:17

I was reading this last night,, but didn't rejoin to post then when my thoughts were more coherent unfortunately but several things I wanted to add

Obviously all accusations should be followed up with impunity, ie no intervention by the the powers that be...this applies to all classes, professions, commoner and king alike.

Not everyone who says they have been abused is telling the truth ( one of those naming names is a dubious witness imo...given that he has contradicted himself and 'may' be something of a fantasist. I am not into conspiracy theories but I can see inconsistencies in what he has written /reported etc.)

Any investigation previously dropped should be looked at again, but until it is and is properly investigated, anyone named is still innocent until proven guilty. If found guilty then of course anyone involved should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law..including anyone found responsible for a cover up or perverting the course of the investigation.

I didn't much like Ted Heath, certainly not his politics, but that doesn't mean I should assume guilt based only on personal antipathy which is sometimes the case I think?
