However, we deviate from the topic. - says Errol - "WE", no "YOU"

this is a serious topic, not one to muck about on

What I was trying to highlight was, what we all know, that newspapers publish what sells.

Of course they will publish a nice juicy bit of news about an alleged offender but can't be bothered to let the public know that there was no substance to the accusation.

I really cannot be bothered to reply to that drivel.

Let's get back to what we should be doing - supporting the victims by listening to them and NOT discounting their statements.

Offering them moral support when their self esteem is on the floor and their relationships are falling apart through guilt. Guilt they shouldn't be experiencing at all.

JoyBoroAngle - I DO care a monkey's whatever about what you say - I like a giggle.

However, we deviate from the topic.

How on earth was I insulting?

I corrected my spelling as any decent chap would - what is wrong with that?

As for reporting my post, I can only imagine that it was reported by someone highlighting what I said.

I quoted "Joy" and said the word "sic" which as anyone knows means you are quoting something that is incorrectly spelled and certainly not pointing fingers - just to ensure that nobody thinks it is you making the incorrect spelling.

How jolly convenient your post has been RRd. Believe has 3 'e's and you were insulting Joy's grammar and spelling! Hence my C & P of your newly departed post.

I don't belive I did that - how disrespectful to turn this into an argument.

Anyway back to the point - I truly feel for all those who have genuinely been affected but I also feel for those who have been wrongly accused.

Oh, AnnCardiff - how was the miscreant dealt with? I hope they got their just desserts. Didn't your son also have a case against someone else - how did that go? Again, I hope the result was as it should have been. Really thinking of you because it must be hard to have two cases on the go.

BELIVE ????? pot, kettle and black eh?

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 5 Aug 2015 22:08

How disrespectful to the victims to try and score points on this thread Errol.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 5 Aug 2015 22:05

very funny Errol - not

there are a lot of members on this site who do not always use correct grammar or spelling or apostrophies - it's not for the likes of you to ridicule them

I was one of those who was shocked when Rolf Harris was accused - never, I thought, he seemed such a warm hearted person, but he's sure shown his true colours in prison with that song he's written - what a worm

Money isn't a consideration in the majority of cases just justice.

I remember Peter Adamson and the case, I am not saying there are possible cases of misjudged or malicious accusations I am saying that some abusers are so devious that people are *shocked* when it is proven they are guilty.

Remember all the sharp intakes of breath when Stuart Hall, Fred Talbot and Rolf Harris were found guilty? I heard the phrase "no, I don't believe it" many times. Savile got away with his vile abuse for decades (and people knew). When researching a couple of years ago I came across a newspaper article which stated that Savile had distributed 100,000 leaflets in the borough of Newham in an attempt to trace all chronically ill and disabled residents. At the time this was undoubtedly viewed as an act of kindness. With hindsight it seems more sinister.

Untrue accusations don't alter the truth of a proven case of abuse. There will always be a degree of unfairness in our system, that's why hanging was abolished!

Sharron - that is terrible and backs up my point.

I get sick of hearing from the gallows brigade "eee there's no smoke wi'out fire"
