Take one helpful 6 year old grandson, one helpful year old dog and me.

Gather together all the ingredients......realise you haven't got the right flour for the pasta so go and buy some.

Weigh flour and put in a ring as the diagram says, break the eggs in the middle of it. Pick out the shell and watch in horror as the resulting mess gets all over grandson and the dog .

Salvage as much as possible, bash it about a it and stick it in the fridge to "rest"

Scrape the glue like mess off said dog and grandson with a spatula and set grandson up to wash up .....aka make more mess....meanwhile fry the onions, garlic (when crusher breaks lay into them with a rolling pin) mushrooms and mince.

Wipe as much splattered garlic out of hair as possible.

Take one jar of sauce, some chopped tomato, basil leaves from the garden oregano and an oxo. Get grandson to mix enthusiastically .

Wash mixture off dog's back and put her in her bed to dry off.

Take pasta that has fallen into a coma in the fridge out and both try to roll it out.

Heed the "Hit it with the rolling pin Grandma" instruction and it will get the idea eventually.

Let dog out of bed to pick up crumbs and watch her sniff and sneeze at them before going back to bed

Make a white sauce......whisk out the lumps and grate some cheese

Prise pasta off the board with a fish slice and put it together in the dish.

Result................one not bad, apart from the chewy pasta, lasagne, one grandson in the shower to get clean before Mummy picks him up and one exhausted Grandma having a glass of wine after feeding the dog and cleaning the kitchen.

Tomorrow, I will attack the burnt bits in the oven :-D

I have a microwave porridge one too.

Empty packet into bowl

Measure 170fl oz milk into it

Reread instructions, sieve oats and add 170ml milk instead

Put in microwave and set timer for 2 minutes

Dash upstairs to get coat for work

Return to kitchen when ping is heard and remove cold bowl

Set to cook not defrost and reset timer

Get dog to drop the shoe she is chewing while waiting for ping

Open microwave and take bowl out

Hold scalded fingers under cold tap until pain eases

Scrape porridge off worktop and put in bin along with broken bowl

Give dog a kiss and hug for leaving the spillage alone, put her in her bed.

Dash to work chewing a banana on the way

Enjoy :-D

Lol

Oats keep you calm, obviously they work even if you don't eat them, you sounded well chilled

I'm a very messy cook, so I wouldn't even try to make my own pasta!

The ready to use (fresh NOT the hard) lasagne is good enough for us lol :-D
