Thanks everyone - I have now read through the two referenced threads, very helpful. I don't think I'll be signing up in a hurry, will wait until I have time to do it with a lot of thinking!

I'm sticking with the old site as long as possible. The new profile page is laughable.
If Johnny is shown as being born in '48 and Mary in '50 do we really need to be told that Mary was born two years after Johnny?

It's not going to cost more. It's up to you to try then decide if you like it. There are added features.

I tried it then changed back purely because my Master Tree is held on my own computer. I have an off line stand-alone programme. The new Ancestry version seems to mimic other commercial programmes. May be their own FTM? Only people who also have that one answer that question!

Just had an email offering a change to a new "improved" Ancestry site - anyone know anything about this? Have they tried it? Is it just a beta site? Is it going to cost any more? is it offering anything new? etc. etc.
