We had planned to meet somebody from on the boards on Monday but they have hit a problem so OH and I are planning to go to the outlet village in Ebbw Vale.

Anybody about?

Enjoy yourselves, where ever you end up. It's good to get a change of scenery

Festival Park is OK but not really worth a long journey. If you want to shop then you would be better off visiting Cardiff which has a lot of Victorian arcades. Alternatively, if you want a day out in Wales then St Fagans National History Museum is worth a visit.

That sounds quite a trek! 'A change is as good as a rest'. Enjoy your day out.

We know Festival Park and, well, we know Sidoli's ice-cream. That is the big draw but OH needs some new shoes and I need a dose of the valleys.

I don't really go out to shop so there is not a big town or city that would attract me and the outlet village near Bridgend is better avoided when the schools are on holiday in my experience so Ebbw Vale it is.

We have even been known to pop in to Sidoli's factory and get a couple of catering tubs.

Have a lovely day Sharron. How long does that journey take you?

Sharron Report 9 Aug 2015 15:51

Do you know, I can't remember, but it is easily done in a day.

We will be coming by Gloucester.

Do you mean you will actually travelling through Gloucester? i.e.M4 to Swindon then across country via Gloucester to pick up the M50? If you know the route, expect some slight traffic holdup as a diversion is in place while they repair the viaduct just before Over. (A417-A40). It shouldn't be too bad though if you are there off peak.

Probably Oxford,Cheltenham,Ross-on-Wye.

Been.

Did you see me wave when I went past Gloucester?

We went the pretty way and it took several lifetimes but door to door via the motorway coming home took almost exactly three hours.

Bought some toffee, had a good dose of the valleys. I will be alright for a while.

I thought I heard somebody shout out something. Did you actually go through the diversion for road works? Glad you had a good day anyway.

Dunno.

We stayed on the A40.
