I'm going to make my hubby read this thread. He thinks I'm the only one who buys multiple tins, jars, packets etc. |

For me, one of the best things about hubby retiring 3 years ago, was throwing out his work shirts. I hadn't replaced any for the last couple of years that he worked so they were all pretty much worn out and I ceremonially dumped them all in the bin. He very rarely wears a shirt these days. |

I used to be terrible about buying things I'd already got plenty of, especially tinned goods. Now that OH is retired and shops with me, things have improved. He's much more on the ball about remembering what is already lurking in the pantry. |

We don't use much jam but I had to keep making it to accommodate Fred's foraging trips so I have a cupboard full of jams and jellies. |

Oh, there are six bottles of Alberto Balsam in the bathroom cupboard because they will do for him and I saw them on offer at Home Bargains. I use Vosene which I buy when it is on offer if I can but only have the one bottle at the moment. |

I started a little stash of empty jars and a few bottles for preserving and kept it outside the back door. There were just a few selected ones. |

Think big, Sharron, and be greedy. Start a pile of £20 notes. |
