It is very interesting. During the design there was a lot of pressure for a large and visible cross at the top. This was denied on the grounds that it would have been un-American.

Using modern CAD systems it is perfectly possible to design and preview a virtual cross which depends on the lighting. Those signing off the plans would have no idea.

For something such as this to happen by accident is very unlikely. As Errol says, interesting.

I just found it interesting, that's all.

I think the cross is only there because all the lights on the hilt floor(s) are on and all the lights in the centre of that plane on most floors are on. There are one or two extra lights that are on.

Here is the same view during topping out ... no cross.

Being an entirely rational person ( ;-) ) obviously it is the brain sorting out a random assortment of shapes and reflections into something we recognise, either a cross or a sword ...by the same token the shapes on my curtains when pulled back in a certain way can be seen as a lady in a large floral hat :-)

Now if the cross/sword suddenly appeared on the pinnacle of the building that would be something else entirely :-) photoshop...probably.

Errol

Have deleted my posts, as i find your comment underneath rude and unneccessary. Putting lol afterwards does not make it less so.

Last time i will be posting on any of your threads lol

I actually thought it was an antenna.

I wonder if that dalek gets a good signal from there. :-S :-D

If this is simply a reflection (and not something the architect planned) we're parrying back and forth about something that is not there.

Time we chilled, I think.

Crosses and soldiers and/or swords and vicars or vice versa - a hackneyed argument but undoubtedly valid I am sure.

I certainly would not smile at a serious topic - maybe at irony but not the topic per se

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 12 Aug 2015 01:10

I just don't see the hackneyed argument bit but you can obviously read more in this than I can.

So if you've smiled at the imagined hackneyed argument - good.

I

Don't get your drift there - does everything have to be fine? But if it's put a smile on your face, then be happy.

A cross to a soldier or a sword to a vicar - I always smile when people use that hackneyed argument - like it makes everything fine?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 12 Aug 2015 00:40

But not to a soldier or a vicar.

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 12 Aug 2015 00:32

I wouldn't like to say but stranger things have happened.

Maybe a cross maybe a sword - both are inflamatory.

Possibly.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 12 Aug 2015 00:28

A cross - was that planned when they erected the building?

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 11 Aug 2015 23:35

And a sword!
