	Saw a lot of Spitfires from 603 City of Edinburgh Air Squadron defending the Firth of Forth during the War.

	On August 13, 1940, the Luftwaffe tried to destroy the RAF saw about 200 Germans killed or captured as they failed to break through British aerial defences. If the Germans had succeeded then it could have paved the way for an invasion of Britain. The engagements resulting from Aldertag became known as the Battle of Britain

	Wonderful sight of first a flight of four Spitfires heading south over my house and a few moments ago a perfect v-formation of five more going in a different direction. It is 75th anniversary of a major offensive in the Battle of Britain. Yesterday the Red Arrows flew directly over as I was hanging out the washing! Happy days and remembering The Few.
