2 nights ago a police helicopter was right over our road. As I knew me and mine were safe and well I thought no more of it, turned over and went to sleep.

Next morning a policeman knocked on the door asking if we had seen or heard anything from the house in question.

I was told a lady was in hospital with serious injuries and a man had been arrested for attempted murder ( now in prison until he goes to court)

The village website was full of posts asking who? what? when? why? and how? and an endless stream of people suddenly taking their dogs or children past the house in question.

It is a dreadful thing to happen, but more shocking to me was the reaction from people who didn't even know who the couple were. Much hand-wringing and fake concern when all they really want are the gory details.

I just don't get it.........do you? :-S

No Kitty - I don't get that mentality. It is a tragedy and not one to indulge in. Human nature I guess :-(

There was something similar in Chichester as well.

All you people, you had better keep away from West Sussex, it's not a safe place to be!

I am very unobservant, lots of things go over my head anyway. But why is there a need to know every little detail and pretend you knew the people concerned?

At heart we are all horrible but some are more civilized than others.
