Hi All,
I have traced my family back to Andrew Mather who was a master carpenter for many years at an estate called Newton Don in Scotland. It is near Coldstream and Kelso in the Scottish Boarders . Andrew married Alison Wood at Coldstream on 7/12/1793
and the last record I have of them is at Newton Don in the 1841 Census both shown as age 75. I cannot find any birth or death records for either of them. All I can say is that Alison was born in Berwickshire. Andrew is shown on the Census as born out f County.
Can anyone help, would be most grateful for any connections or assistance.

Many thanks for your help, the birth in Roxburgh looks hopeful. As it is about the right date and "not in county". I will investigate further.
