It is the new claim. Actually, I have to leave it to OH because it makes me panic.

We have had to make a new claim since they decided I was ready to go back to work and we have never had much from this claim so he queried it and we have been sent a new form wanting to know the ins and outs of part of a duck.

I was being paid Job Seekers which being a carer does not entitle you to.

I am being very stoical this time because it will all be over in November!

IDS has a conscious is as flexible as a CoE Bishop in politics.

And he is an experienced politician who is very good at answering questions without actually answering them - if that makes sense & can even proceed further by answering another question not yet raised.

Many residents are more involved in attempting to survive in a country where economic betrayal is the new norm. Too many are still just getting by from day to day, and from week to week. Existing, rather than living.

When it comes to funding for the most vulnerable in our society or accepting accountability for those in its care, the State's typical reaction is to abdicate responsibility, and it will do so by exhausting every legal option at its disposal.

Ordinary people are paying heavily for having too much trust in those in control of the political & financial institutions. The recent news that MPs are promised another pay rise while the ordinary workers are expected to endure further cuts smacks of inequity & injustice.

The UK needs & deserves a 'new politics' for the very obvious reason that the current ones have been a catastrophic failure. Disgusting politics. :-P

“….. always keep a hold of Nurse, for fear of finding something worse”
(Hillaire Belloc)

When it comes to looking after themselves and their ‘Mates’, leading politicians all as bad as each other. At the moment, there is no credible alternative to the current government. Sure, the positions could be reassigned, but the main thrust of their policies will mainly remain the same.

Once upon a time, governments purportedly represented their populace. This one of ours represents itself, its pals and its backers, and we pick up the tab.

Politicians have an occupational hazard in that they believe they are indispensable. They also have a pathological unwillingness to admit to making a mistake, let alone committing a crime.

Anyone out there with enough courage to turn off the tap on this disgusting shower?

OFITG "sanctioned" is the least of the things I think should happen to IDS :-)

This is a man who lied on his own CV but expects the claimants to be honest.

Even assuming that the leaflet was produced 'innocently' and the case studies of Zac and Sarah used as an illustration, does he really think someone capable of getting a job in the first place needs to be told about sanctions in this manner? What's wrong with simply saying ...'if you do A B or C, or don't do A,B or C then your money will be stopped. '

I have heard some of the jobcentre staff threaten people with sanctions, mostly they are people who need a bit more help rather than have their money stopped, eg a man with obvious learning difficulties who couldn't suss out how to use the job match site "properly".

My son mentioned IDS to me last night then wished he hadn't lol, there is no-one more guaranteed to annoy me than that smug........ !

I suppose this is just one of the many lies and totally misleading information that man in charge of the DWP uses to convince us that everyone claiming benefits is abusing the system. Personally I think it is that man in charge of the DWP that is abusing the system and he should go and go now.

According to an article in The Guardian today, the DWP admits inventing quotes from fake benefits claimants for sanctions leaflet.

The Department for Work and Pensions made the admission after a Freedom of Information request from Welfare Weekly about leaflet featuring bogus sickness benefit claimants.

A leaflet produced by the Department of Work and Pensions has been hastily withdrawn after it emerged that it contained fabricated quotations from fictitious people supposedly taking about their positive experiences of the welfare system.

The leaflet included pictures of “Sarah” and “Zac”, who were presented as sickness benefits claimants who had their some of their benefits withdrawn or had been threatened with benefit removal.
