Can do without tourists GiN :-0

I did, Fly - I found it on Ancestry - the address was on her probate record, though she had hardly anything to leave behind. The other places were on censuses.

South West Northumberland is a really beautiful part of the country - as pretty as the Cotswolds without the tourists. :-D

Fly

Fly Report 20 Aug 2015 16:41

Did you already know about your 3x ggrandmother and the cottage GiN :-0

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 20 Aug 2015 16:39

Tread lightly GiN, I had info that did not fit
and tried it several years later, convinced it
did fit in and mucked up my tree when it was
pointed out to me by a distant cousin it was wrong :-(

LynGinN

LynGinN Report 20 Aug 2015 16:37

I had one Smith, Emma - but I didn't even start to look for that one ;-)

LynGinN

LynGinN Report 20 Aug 2015 16:36

That's what I'm hoping, Fly, so I'm keeping them. :-D - Though I think they were too poor to afford headstones ;-)

I did find the cottages where some of them had lived, though. We had a meal in an inn which was once the cottage where my GGrandmother x 3 died :-0 ;-)

I have several with the same name GiN, as you
say when you think you've got a connection it
turns out not so.
Now I have a new name to add Smith, me head hurts already :-0 :-(

Fly

Fly Report 20 Aug 2015 16:32

They may still fit somewhere GiN in the future :-)

I've fallen out with my tree :-|

Got soaking wet in half a dozen graveyards on Monday, taking photos and making notes, and it looks like none of them were the right ones - the names are very common ones in the area :-0 ;-)
