My OH has a thing about her nails and colors them in all sorts of ways. Some of the colors have to be fixed and for this she uses a UV lamp.

A new lamp arr today cost buttons from China. It works fine.

I am not much interested in nail technology but idly passed some notes under the lamp to see what the nail UV lamp made of them. It turned out to be great at picking up fakes especially fivers of which 7/18 tested failed. No wonder the current issue is to be replaced with plastic notes. Sylvia can say if they are any good.

Maybe mobile phones should have a UV lamp ...

I HATE plastic notes!!

They are stiff yet keep any fold so if you have them in a billfold that folds in 2 or 3, nay plastic notes in there will be almost permanently half folded and never lie flat.

There have been reports that plastic notes exposed to high temperatures or left in sunlight have melted.

They are harder for forgers but it is possible .............. police here have found many thousands of forged notes, especially of lower value notes ($10, $20)

They do keep cleaner and look in good condition for much longer than paper notes.
