Just had to buy a new computer and I was on (buddy) Vista but now seem to be on windows 10.

Having trouble with the mail bit - can anyone help?

One step at a time.................

I have the windows 10 now but I* have managed to set up the e-mail and it is totally awful!

I believe you can get a new version of outlook which looks just like the windows mail that I had on a previous programme but I can't seem to find out how to set it up.

I just want it to look like outlook or windows mail please.

Windows Mail is built into Win 10 and is based on Outlook (I think - but if you wait until I get home I can have a look on my Win 10 machine)

The new windows Mail has a new interface which looks a lot simpler than previous incarnations - is this what you are referring to?

Yes, I think so - it is just plain white and blue and at has most of the left hand side listing all your e-mails and a little bit to the right which you can write a new message in.

The lists of individual e-mails take up a lot of space and you can only see about 7 of them at a time and have to keep scrolling down.

On the old one you could see a lot more and they were a lot easier to find.

I would like to have the page look mor elike the old one.

I did find something which allowed me to set up an outlook account but it looks as if I then have to have a new e-mail address ?

I will keep exploring but if you know of an easy solution to this I would very much appreciate such information.

Hi Dea
You can add any email accounts to it and it will sync them.
It sounds like you may be previewing your emails rather than just listing them.
You should see various settings on the left hand side - look out for an icon shaped like a cog (should be bottom left) which you can use to access some settings. You can also click on the three lines in the top left corner to access various email accounts etc.
Over the next few days I am hoping to put together one of my guides covering this.

However, if you want to add an existing account, when you started the app you should have had a screen which had a "Get Started" button on it. You click this and then follow the prompts to add an existing email account.

Thank you errol - as you can tell, I am totally confused.

I 'did' enter the existing account but it came up in the new mail format

I have tried clicking on the settings icon (cog) and all the other ones but I haven't got much further (yet) !!

It would be wonderful if you can get that guide sorted (whenever you have time, of course). - Will you please let me know when it is done and where I can find it?

I also can't see how to set up when it sends and receives - it seems I have to click on 'synch' and then it brings my mail in - the last programme used to send and receive automatically every 10 minutes?

Don't spend too much time on this as I will keep exploring andd will get there in the end ;-) :-D
