According to a report in the paper today, forgetting what you opened a cupboard for, or going upstairs and wondering why etc., are quite normal. The time to worry is when you don't remember that you forgot.

Oh always remembers MY appointments.
He usually remembers his own too, but always gets the time wrong & argues until the cows come home that he´s right until he checks the appointment card.

*ignores Stray* :-P

My dentist sends me text and email reminders for appointments too. With what he charges me he should also send a car :-|

I guess I'll have to stick bits of paper everywhere as reminders for the September appointment..lolol

I write appointments on a calendar hanging in the kitchen .its the planner type so easy to check .

Well that would be ok if I remember to check weekly let alone daily . I often forget to turn in over to the next month so a week into the new month early appointments would be missed .

Not much of a help really :-(

My dentist and o.h.'s dentist phone a message to remind us of the appointments and the eye clinic texted me to remind me of my appointments.

O.h. writes everything on his calender, it's ok as long as he remembers to look at it lol

Him indoors had written the appointment in his diary too. He didn't bother checking but still reserved the right to drive away from the hospital in complete silence for 10 minutes...lolol

Oh and the times my alarm goes off to remind me to take some medication or other, I toddle off into the kitchen, get distracted and then can't remember if I have taken the pills! That is slightly more serious :-( so now on it's pop the day's rations into my dispenser and check how many I have left at the end of the day.

At least I have my own teeth.......at the moment :-D

Old age is just something we all grow into - at a minimum speed of 60 mins. per hour. Getting older need not be a frightening episode. Now we have the experience of having made mistakes, learning from them, and moving on.

Old age has given me a thick skin (just like my local bank manager) & I'm a bit deaf plus my mind wanders. My memory goes back to at least half past eight this morning. My brain is on holiday but the rest of my body is still here.

And we can afford to snigger innocently at the youngsters - some of them will surely go through much the same upsets/problems we managed to survive, although they don't know that yet. Good luck to them - they'll need it! ;-)

I always put the appointment on my phone so it rings me on the day of the appointment..

And then do everything you do except miss the appointment.

I turned up at a funeral a day late this year. At least it wasn't my own.

Although it didn't involve so much preparation, I've missed one by a week!

Our local surgery did the opposite recently. They phoned in the morning to postpone to the following week. Then they could find no trace of the new booking
They 'fitted' me in, as if they were doing me a favour. :-| :-|

I oce thought that one of Fred's hospital appontments was a day later than it really was.

The ambulance came to pick him up and he had gone out.

As luck would have it he was only up the road but I had to lead them up there so they could pick him up.

I didn't feel so bad though because they had previously turned up at the exact right time and date in the wrong month!
