the community I live in extraordinaire meeting of owners. To vote for a new president. Normally I wouldn´t worry but this mattered to me as the person standing was/is a waste of space who wants the expats out. So somehow I got involved, and found another candidate to stand against him. For the last 3 weeks I feel as though I have been on an election campaign, I have met and spoken to more people in that short time than I did in the 2 years I lived here. The reason our elected candidate hasn´t done this work is because ..well he said no ....then maybe, then threw his hands in the air and said okay :-D :-D :-D :-D.

I think we have a majority but fingers crossed please people we need this vote xx and I need everything to know I have done enough to get our guy voted in

PS. if all goes well I have 22 votes out of a possible 40 another 2 maybe vote for us 3 will not vote at all and we know we have 5 votes against us.

Uzzi, I thought I wrote on an earlier thread about this.
You have to win against the arrogant chap who thinks he has this sewn up, or rather your candidate has to win but will only have done so with your strong efforts

And don't go disappearing off here!

It happens Uzzie.
We are the only ex pats in our block and have owned the flat since 2003.Most of the apartments are rented out & have absentee landlords who are always advised the date of the annual meeting & sent copies of the minutes.
All we ever get is demands for several hundreds of euros in addition to the annual maintenance charge for "repairs"
We are now refusing to pay the latest one on the grounds that we have not seen or agreed any estimates. nor been advised of the cost.
Like you, our president is worse than useless.

We took 32 votes out of 40 the other 8 didn´t turn up ...including the nutter who was going to stand against us.
It was the biggest turn out of votes whether by proxy or self this community has ever known. When everybody in the building voted for our candidate it was a done deal with or without all the proxy´s we held.

I am feeling a tad proud of all the ruddy work I put in, but I have met some amazing neighbours I would never have know with out me canvassing. I know have to take our new president round to meet all those I know and they don´t :-D

Thank you Elizabeth. I know I shouldn´t be feeling smug, but I do. I shook the community up and made them get off their sun loungers, It was an incredible vote and an amazing one for our candidate, who expect to squeak in. As everybody shock his hand to congratulate him I did him hear him say it was Jac I was also happy that they voted the administrator in as he is well easy on the eye, and lip reads better English than he should as my (quiet) comment made him grin. vote for

I think I might have to be pressy´s sec as Benito is ;-) ;-) ;-) but pressy´s wife agrees with me *tuts* ............................Mind he is too, far too young for either of us
