It is only natural to be scared but I hope that everything will be straightforward and you can be back home soon. Good luck. xx

it's OK to be scared, and OK to admit that you are!

As Pat said, we are all with you, just imagine every one of your friends and contacts on here holding your hand :-D

PatinCyprus Report 7 Sep 2015 18:54

I know several people who have had hip ops and all said the pain afterwards is not nearly so bad as before the op and it goes away gradually as you improve.

I shouldn't worry about sleep, you can do that at the hospital.

Just remember we'll all be holding your hand - well mentally we will be with you.

:-D

See you in a few days when you're back home giving orders to your OH - make the most of it. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I went to bed early, about 9.30pm. Probably got to sleep about 11pm.

I woke up at 1am...... couldn't get back to sleep, it's now 2.20am

I admit to being nervous, but I kept waking up because of pain in the hip... double whammy?

I've been reading the blurb the doc gave me.... which I had only glanced at. Sometimes I think they give us too much information..........like..... my feet & ankles will be put into special boots, then traction used to "loosen" the hip joint........ arrrrrrgh....... when the procedure (I won't go into that) is finished, local anasthetic will be put into the hip joint.

I'll have to get up in 5 hours anyway........ no point in trying to get back to sleep, it's not going to happen.

I'm wondering how I'm going to get up two flights of stairs when I get home on Wednesday :-0

Excuse the rambling.........I'm very apprehensive, and a wee bit scared.

Hope everything goes well.

If you get sandwiches you'll have less mess to clean up when you're over the op. :-D

Hope to see you soon back on here. :-) <3

thankyou!

Went grocery shopping this afternoon, with Himself.

Lots of things put in the trolley... by Himself......hmmmm....... I think I'll be fed sandwiches when he is "cooking".

Another 'phone call from the doc's office......

Change of plans......... I don't have to get there at 8am, new appointment 9.30am

That's better. I won't have to get up at the crack of dawn. It takes about 45-60 minutes to drive to the hospital, in Queensland, we live in NSW.

LadyScozz Report 7 Sep 2015 01:21

and........

The council is replacing water mains all over town.

Last week they started in our street. Heavy duty equipment in the street, and there are muddy tyre marks everywhere. The mains are under where a footpath should be (there are few footpaths in town, most streets have lawn up to the kerb) and there are holes everywhere. Part of our garden has been dug up (our plants are sitting on plastic in the nature strip!) and rocks removed. What a mess.

The heavy equipment goes BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.............. the same noise my washing machine makes when a cycle is finished!!

They said they'd let us known when the water will be turned off (when all the pipes are replaced)........ that's usually at a really inconvenient time. I hope they won't be turning it off tomorrow before 7.15am, because that's when I have to leave to get to the hospital, and I'm not going anywhere without having a shower.

I'm really nervous! More nervous than when I had the "probe"!!

DH is out somewhere..... I have to wait for him because I can't reach the shelf where we keep small bags etc...... I'll need to pack for an overnight stay.

This has thrown my plans way out........ there's washing in the machine (and it's raining), and I have a huge shopping list! Unless we can get to the shops this evening, DH will have to do it tomorrow. The housework can wait...... that's only rearranging dust.

I probably won't be posting for a few days.. doc says I'll be on crutches for a while.
