A great achievement. :-)
I don't envy her job - she has shown a great dedication to duty.
Some of the powers that be should certainly take a leaf out of her book.

Lynda - I love buck house as well. ;-)

I remember being at Stepney when the royal family returned from a trip abroad The King, the Queen, Princesses Margaret and "Lilibett" were in open topped cars

JoonieCloonie Report 9 Sep 2015 16:22

oh wait ... I thought this was about me!

but actually I was born after HM's father died so not quite so long

otherwise I might have expected to live through three reigns

of course some people already have now (like my mum ... 4 if you count you know who)

imagine in Victoria's day, not so many people were born before she ascended the throne and died after her death

why ... not even Victoria herself! :-D

it would be nice to think HM could take retirement though wouldn't it? and knit baby booties and use her bus pass to go to the shops for some dog treats ...

Bit like Charles and Diana. I'm old enough to remember two sweet little girls playing together. No fairytale ending for Margaret. but well done HM the Queen.

Happy days
