The family had moved continuously due to clashes. He was captured and tortured. They moved to Turkey 3 years ago, due to these clashes which had taken the lives of 11family members.They then wanted to get out. They wanted a better life for their children.

They had their refugee application to move to Canada (where his sister has lived for over 20 years) refused, so the only way out was through the 'back door'.
Of course, now he has no reason to go there, the Canadian PM has offered him citizenship.

My comment was to question Bob about his opinion on the article he was quoting.

Nasty ? Must say I have seen a lot worse comments on here on this subject.

According to an article in today's paper, the tragic child who's body was washed up on the beach, had been living in Turkey with his family for almost all of his life, and his father even had a job there. A relative in Canada sent the money for them to pay a trafficker to smuggle them to Europe.
