I should think that everyone gets quotes for the same things in a policy - that's the only way to compare - and then one picks the cheapest.

Barcl*** Bank - can you give us a clue as to who that might be? Bit of a puzzler that one.

For heaven's sake - it is quite easy to get cheap insurance but you get what you pay for

It must be the year for a huge hike in buildings and contents insurance. The best quote I got was from Barcl*** Bank. Couldn't believe it but I went with them.

Had the renewal quote from LL*yds Bank and did a double-take at the premium asked of £826 pa for building and contents.
Went online to a comparison site and found what appears to be the same insurance from the same company for £331.
Sains**rys is even cheaper at £233.
The most expensive was £516.
Looks like I'm changing insurers!
