No good expecting him to put the kettle on.

He will still be busy watching the bloody football!

When I said I had no interest in sport, I was not including beach volleyball.

That's fair game, Sharron.

Of course, should OH's mother come round here, there would likely be some sport worth watching, bareknuckle fighting, jousting, kick boxing.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 15 Sep 2015 20:27

If it ever happens, Sylvia, I'll start watching tennis again. It was one of the few sports I always enjoyed playing which I did almost every summer's day between the ages of 11 and 16. Can't wait for the grunting to be over and I can settle down to watch again.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 15 Sep 2015 20:05

seems that the Women's Tennis governing body wants to ban grunting ................. but it won't affect the professionals already playing

they've been talking about it for at least 5 years :-(

will it ever happen?

Denburybob Report 15 Sep 2015 19:48

I've no idea. I just thought I would throw it in to see the reaction. When my B-in-L's team, Birmingham City loses (which is most of the time) he is like a bear with a sore head. I shout at him, "IT'S ONLY A BLOODY GAME" Personally, I have no interest in competitive "sports".

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 15 Sep 2015 19:30

OK sport, what's the distinction because you've lost me?

Denburybob

Denburybob Report 15 Sep 2015 19:13

Football, cricket, etc. are not sports, they are games.
