	Although this thread seems to have wandered off a bit, can I stick my two-penn'orth in? I may be wrong, but I think that FGM prevents women getting any pleasure from sex. Could it be that men like their women like that so that they, (men) don't have to put any effort in to sex. Wham bam thankyou ma'am, and that is it? Only a theory of course.

	If you read the link I posted it says it's to keep them virgins until marriage and faithful after marriage. It also makes sex more pleasurable for men, apparently.

	The law has been seen as a protector of individual rights in this part of the modern world. Occasionally, laws are misunderstood & therefore misapplied. Nevertheless, the law must be fair & practical. It must respect the person regardless of any pomp or privilege they may or may not enjoy in society. And it is vital that justice is administered in some form, evenly & fairly for all.

	So perhaps that's why P3 was discontinued.
