Yes, it's an annual event, there's a Travelodge only 100 yards from the hall if you book a room about 3 months in advance you can usually get one for about £35 and there's also a nice pub next door for eating and drinking.

I'd love to go, as my grandfather's family all came from Merthyr, but it's a bit far for one day!!

Is it on every year?

A bit more info. There's lots of free parking, free admission, free lectures/talks, free research help, free look ups and a nice cafe/restaurant.

The Glamorgan Family History Fair takes place at the Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Centre on Saturday 10th October, Full details can be found at www.glamfhs.org.uk

A large fair with lots of research help available with stalls from most of the Welsh family history societies attending, well worth a vist if you are doing any research in Wales.
