Yes, there is salad.

Last time I went we all lined up for salad and a bit of meat. There was cheese out for the last course.

I would have just had the salad because I wasn't allowed to have the cheese as it would have given other people ideas and cocked up all their organization. Unfortunately, the especially made quiche was called for and my slice presented so I had to look pleased and go off with it.

They have made it for me so I will eat it.

Do they serve salad or vegetables? If they serve salad maybe next year tell them you'd really enjoy a cheese salad. Or cheese and egg if you eat eggs.

I have made it known but still the quiches roll in.

There is a woman who makes a big deal about what she can and cannot eat at the village lunch and she is a big pain. When we did bangers and mash, she complained that the sausages were not burned!

Because I would rather slip in quietly with my own bit of cheese for a meal that is only costing me £3.50 anyway, the Harvest Supper is £5, they are, I think, making that bit of effort as a sign of gratitude. So I eat my quiche, gagging as I go!

Tell them beforehand Sharron. What about taking some vegetable soup in a flask so it's ready to eat?

If they see you do that this year, they may have some for you in future.

Worth a try?

It's the Harvest Supper.

I try to not cause any problem with being a vegetarian, both at the village lunch and the Harvest Supper. If necessary I will take a piece of cheese with me so that nobody is inconvenienced.

Everybody has been let know who needs to know.

So why do they insist on making me a bloody quiche every year?

I do not like quiche!
