As a child in the late 50s early 60s I remember that my mother never, ever hung out washing on a Sunday and it is something I also never do.

I think it may have had something to do with LCC rules for tenants and use of shared washing lines or was it more to do with the fact it was God's day?

I am sure there were other, what we would now consider strange, social rules of behaviour for a Sunday that we strictly adhered too. For example I know we were not allowed to play out!

Does anyone else remember any or was it only my family?
