Yep, dentistry has moved on and thank goodness for that. I do pay an arm and a leg each month but there are no waiting times and I get to see him the same day for emergencies.

My music of choice is played to me...lolol and a selection of beverages and juices are offered when we are in reception.

It's worth every penny TBH.

A couple of years ago, I had to have a "X ray" in the dentists....... where's the film pad thing?

and was amazed almost instantly to see the images on the monitor...

no rushing down the lab and waiting for it to be developed...........

No doubt my dentist will have it as he's always up with the latest stuff - and no doubt the prices will go up accordingly :-D

A lady on a date notices that "He" is fastidious about cleanliness , always washing his hands, etc... anyway long story short, after night in bed she comments about how gentle he was and caring and hazards a guess at his profession............I bet you are a dentist? yes he says I am.......you must be a very good dentist, she says.......well I try to be, he says, but why did you say that?

well she says.........

I never felt a thing!!!

I returned today to have a small filling....my dentist used this:

COMPUTER CONTROLLED Anaesthetic. Anaesthesia is necessary when you have to avoid pain. Many people are afraid of anaesthesia, why more and more dentists offering such surface anaesthesia cream or laser or nitrous oxide before the 'dotted'. At the same time, a new computer-controlled anaesthetic method type "The Wand" and "Sleeper One" that many clinics now offer a painless anaesthetic method of "magic" show conjures the pain away. The technology does not resemble the traditional syringe and does not feel like a syringe. In fact, kept the needle like a pen - and looks like a pen. The computer-controlled anaesthetic method, besides being painless also has the advantage that the patient does not have the feeling of being stunned or paralyzed in half of his face after treatment is finished. The reason is the computer-controlled dosing and that the stunning acts only very locally by the tooth to be treated. Anaesthesia occurs with a very small and thin needle, which hardly can be felt and not feel nearly as uncomfortable as the traditional method of anaesthesia.

Absolutely no areas of numbness apart from immediately by the tooth, no lidocaine being dripped accidentally anyone else in mouth, it was fantastic.

If your dentist has the equipment ask for it, you will be amazed at the painless treatment and swift recovery afterwards including no dribbling :-D
