Does anyone else find the British Newspaper Archive additional feature on Genes Reunited less than useful because of the poor search? The actual Archive website has an advanced search facility that allows you to search for phrases (by putting double quotes around the phrase) and only articles with all listed terms (by putting a + at the start of the list) but Genes Reunited just has a simple search. If you add words (thinking you might reduce the number of articles returned), you actually increase the number! Searching for any ancestor, other than one with an unusual name, is almost impossible. Why can't we have a decent search? |
