There is quite a lot of ruby chard in the garden so I wondered if it would make a passable spinach soup.

I wilted it and liquidized but pushing it through a sieve was a bit too arduous for my liking and I had seen very similar liquid ooze from a silage clamp, not to mention the stuff in the sieve looking like the silage after the cow had processed it but I didn't want to waste it, already!

I mashed a few spuds, chopped a couple of onions, cut up some sage leaves and mixed in some grated cheese and, of course, crumbled in some green Oxos.. There was loads!

Thinking it was a bit like bubble and squeak, I fried some for tea last night. It took ages and did resemble fried cow pat but it was surprisingly delicious with a tin of baked beans.

As there was a lot left, I mixed some flour in and there is a dollop baking in the oven. The other bit, I mixed with some flour and milk to make a sort of pancake which took an age to cook but we had it for lunch.

I still have all the stalks left to do something with.

I really mus be feeling better but whether I will be after eating that lot I don't know.
