I tend to avoid Bath at certain times of the year due to the large bands of youngsters who HAVE to walk around as if they're glued together. I never step off the pavement, just plough on my own trajectory until they have to split apart. They're never aggressive or rude, just look like they're in a daydream :-S There's also the 'I can't get run over I'm a tourist' attitude too - well just watch out for the bolshy locals :-D

Two female voices that wind me up,
one says" insert cash or select card payment type"..did you use any of your own bags?"

the other......
"turn around when possible"

how can you turn around?
when you are strapped in?

The older I get, the bolshier I get, Liz :-D

.....especially when 'youff' think they're better/deserve more/can just turn up and get on the bus before me :-0
I have been known to ask a member of the 'youff' if they can make a pair of curtains/gut a fish/kill a chicken etc. If not, what makes them think they are more entitled than me? - as I get on the bus before them.

Pleased to say my grandchildren (especially the 13 year old - we have a bond that scares her mother - my daughter) have a great respect for older people - 'cos they think they may all be as bolshy as me!!! :-D :-D :-D

Glad you stood up for yourself, Maggie, what a cheek that woman had.

I went to Sainsbo's today, just to get a few things.
I didn't use a basket, but (obviously) ended up with more than intended (it was the vanilla cheesescake and 'necessary' double cream).
I went to the self serve checkouts as it wasn't too busy.

I'd just about put my purchases on the shelf bit, when a young woman came alongside me, and started using the till :-0

'Excuse me' I said, being a polite (though sarcastic) type of person.
'Oh sorry', she said, 'I didn't see you there'.
'Well, that's even more insulting' was my response as I shoved her away from 'my' machine.

Do we really 'disappear' as we get older?

Then I had a thought - what if she'd put an item through, that I would pay for?
I checked - she hadn't - but I can see it's frighteningly, easily, possible.
