	LB :-) <3 :-D My Great Grandmother was married in 1846 in Cockermouth and she was classed as a minor because she had not reached the age of 21 years. (confirmed by the Cumbrian records dept.) GP

	This is what it says Barb Marriage bonds and allegations only exist for couples who applied to marry by licence. They do not exist for couples who married by banns. • The marriage allegation was the document in which the couple alleged (or frequently just the groom alleged on behalf of both of them) that there were no impediments to the marriage. • The marriage bond set a financial penalty on the groom and his bondsman (usually a close friend or relative) in the case the allegation should prove to be false. :-D :-D

	It seems to imply when it came to marriages it was anyone under the age of 21 passed by an Act in the 1750s!! :-0 :-0
