Please tell the Welsh hospitals I attend that they shouldn't be charging for parking as it's free!

There aren't enough disabled bays (and even some of these we pay for) so it's drop me off and hubby finds a space after driving around and around then he pays for the privilege :-(

I'm surprised that there is so much difference between North and South Wales...or Mid Wales?
Our Betsi Cadwalader area is in so much financial trouble at the moment and the hospital nearest to me has asbestos problems and is in utter chaos.....maybe that's why they daren't charge for parking.
They have meeters and greeters to show you around as parts are closed and it is a real hike to get to the wards.
There was a scare recently when an asbestos ceiling fell down and all the dust was floating about,so all wards closed and lifts stopped.
I know all this because my friend was in ICU in there at the time.

Did you describe the traffic wardens with a 'banned' word? From what I can recall, wasn't it about the lack of any parking at your new hospital?

Why shouldn't staff pay to park?

Many other people have to whilst at work.

the parking charges at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff will continue for some years to come as a contract was signed with a private company to deal with the car parks and that contract has years to run - none of the money from car parking charges goes to the hospital

Ann that is because Vinci Park were given a 15 year contract in exchange for a 9 million pound investment in the parking system (most of which will not be required when the charges are dropped).

It costs £2.20 for up to 4 hours which is a lot cheaper than parking in central Cardiff and I usually find that 4 hours more than covers my visits.
