Due to renew Ancestry sub - Warning!

Fuss! I certainly made a lot of fuss - but it was like speaking to a Robot.

I hadn't been aware that the subs were going up. They did quote and take the higher figure - it is just that the small print explanation said "..At that time, you will be charged the same price as when you signed up,.."

Apparrantly just baldly quoting the higher figure, without suggesting it was new, gives them the get out. Which is why I advised people to query the amount as soon as they get the email in the hope they get the old price back.

I'm not on Facebook so can't have a rant on there.

They had announced that the subs were going up sometime ago. However, it was wrong to state one figure then take a higher one!

If you kick up enough fuss, they might extend your membership for a month or two. If you don't get any joy when you phone them, try complaining on their face book page.

Ancestry are sneaking in a rise to the yearly subs.

My email quoted £119.99* - later in the email it states *.... will not pay any more than I have been already.

Having now had my credit card statement I find I have paid the new amount.

So - if you get a renewal email, query the amount straight away because Ancestry are refusing to do anything about it if you wait for your credit card statement.
