Reading this through made me realise just how much music I do like. I'll have to have another listen to some of the ones mentioned. Has anyone mentioned Samuel Barber's Adaggio for Strings?

BridgettheFidget, Scarlet Ribbons from school days, as well as

D'ye Ken John Peel
Molly Malone
Scarborough Fair
Golden Slumbers
-
and one whose title eludes me but it goes ...through the heather tracks with heaven in their wiles/wilds

I remember the very first poem I learned at the age of five at school.

The thing is I still sing them around the house.

Rollo - "Without music life would be a mistake." Nice.

I think the correct spelling is Nietzsche lol

One of my all time favourite quotes is by Fritz Lang: “To begin with, I should say that I am a visual person. I experience with my eyes and never, or only rarely, with my ears - to my constant regret.”

I remember "sampling " records I was going to buy, on a Blaupunkt Radiogram,
in the shop......and Cavelleria Rusticana is high on my list of spine tingling reverberations.......
very first records I bought were Griegs piano concerto on 78's
and Tchaikovskys, no.1
