I think I have a van drivers bladder. Generally I go several times during the night but hardly at all during the day, apart from when I get comfortable on the recliner!

we have an ensuite bathroom, so I don't have to go far

and OH uses the spare bathroom which is across the hall from the bedroom

In the "olden days". when there were no inside toilets (except for posh people), a chamber pot or a bucket was often kept in the bedroom. If it was a chamber it could be kept under the bed. However the old-fashioned bedsprings might get rusty! On the other hand a bucket could come with a lid, and a handle to make it easier to carry and empty ;-)
I know the feeling though if wanting to stay put when comfortable. :-)
I've got used to having a three o'clock wee! Luckily my bedroom is very close to the bathroom. So I can do it with my eyes closed.
Made possible by the fact that I don't have cats or dogs.

It is worse when you have had a few pints in the pub, and think your bladder will hold until you get home. I once convinced my wife that someone knocked a pint over my trousers!! You ladies have all gone off me now, haven't you?

:-S

My bedroom is upstairs, front of the house.
My bathroom is downstairs, back of house, opposite corner from my bedroom :-(

3 cats - two black. The two black ones like sleeping on my bed, this means I have to get out the opposite side to the door, and walk around the bed - still quicker than disturbing the cats, fighting them off as I try to get out of bed - and potentially falling over them on the stairs.
Then walk through the living room avoiding the third, who is likely to be anywhere - one of her favourite places is on a carrier bag in the middle of the floor :-|

I dread anyone using a urine detector - but if there is any evidence of my 'not quite making it', I can, justifiably, blame the cats :-D

I always kept a bowl of biscuits in the bathroom and a little something for the cat as well!

And you know when you get up the cat will appear from nowhere and think good she up so I will worry her to go downstairs to feed me !!

Going back to bed only gets em fired up so they crawl all over you, or they want to claw the bedclothes around you to get your attention which is accompanied by nips if you try to ignore.

Have sometimes given in and gone down and fed and gone back to bed. It's a viscious circle tho doing that :-( :-( :-(

It´s even worse when you are snug & warm in bed, it´s 3.30 am & the bathroom is at the other end of the house. :-| :-| :-| :-|

I am sixty-three in January and I have learned a few things. One of those things is that most things will get better and go away in time.

It really is about time I learned that the above does not apply to wanting a wee when you are comfortable with your feet up on the recliner.
