Ron ..................

GR are not now always sending notification of pms ..............

I had a series last week of about 6 where I got no emails, but the pms were showing here on site.

Another symptom of the breakdown of the site???

Ron GR do send emails re messages, but half the time, even when you're in the middle of an exchange of emails with someone, the notification disappears into spam so unless you know to look for them you might miss them entirely.

Rollo - not that one mate. The guy who WANTED the info (re the Hynde family) is A Hynde and a member of this site.

Sheila West Wilts - it's HIM wanting the info not me and I presume that GRU still send emails saying there's an email for you.?

on "Find Ancestors" there have been many instances where the poster has returned months or even years later

Maybe you need an address the other side of the Styxx as the last registered birth for an A Hynde was 1882. Did you get the message on or about 31 Oct. ?

If you only log in once in a blue moon, why shouldn't he be the same?

There's always the possibility he is ill, or worse, or is looking after an ill relative and will come back to see the message at some point.

A guy named A Hynde on this site requested some info - wanted to view my Tree but I dont let people see it these days.

However I did get back to him eventually - not on here a lot and when am usually dont bother logging in so was a while. Asked him to mail me at my email addy (which I supplied) and I'd send him copies of my hard copy file for the particular side of the family he interested in. He never bothered, but being polite I sent him some info via this sites mail system. Both mails I sent MANY weeks ago still remain unopened. Will have to think carefully regarding any possible future requests from anyone
