Just seen a poppy on GR and FMP facebook pages ;-)

I'm not expecting them to add the poppy now.

Even the mother ship (FMP) doesn't have one.

Hollow laugh - before today, the previous batch of replies are dated 30 Oct. Before that was 20 Oct.

There are responses on the GR page of FB " 11 hrs" ago (just checked).

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Nov 2015 22:17

Joy .....

that's not surprising as there have no new updates on FB since September 25, and I think no responses to posts since early October

Joy

Joy Report 5 Nov 2015 22:12

I sent a message through GR about it but the message has not been opened. I posted on the wall of GR on facebook but had no response.

Not even a poppy on their e-mail advertising the 1939 register!!!
For goodness sake - you'd have though that would have reminded them :-|

Phlegm & determination will bring us through this forgetful situation.

Is it too early to mention now a certain Christian festive currently hurdling towards us from every direction? :-(

What do you expect from ghosts that can't even cone out at the Witching hour...

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Nov 2015 20:58

as I've just posted ..............

I looked at the FB page, and GR has not updated on there since September 25

so I guess we've been abandoned

You might like this Foggy, it is shared ( with a very nice poppy ;-) ) on an FB genealogy page I frequent.

"I am not a badge of honour,
I am not a racist smear,
I am not a fashion statement,
To be worn but once a year,
I am not glorification
Of conflict or of war.
I am not a paper ornament
A token,
I am more.
I am a loving memory,
Of a father or a son,
A permanent reminder
Of each and every one.
I'm paper or enamel
I'm old or shining new,
I'm a way of saying thank you,
To every one of you.
I am a simple poppy
A Reminder to you all,
That courage faith and honour,
Will stand where heroes fall.
Paul Hunter 2014"

Hello young Rose, lovely to see you as well :-)

Rambling

Rambling Report 5 Nov 2015 20:14

Nice to see you Foggy :-)

I'm sure it's not that though, since Phil and Estelle were moved to FMP there doesn't seem to be the same level of interest in keeping the site going.

Foggy Report 5 Nov 2015 19:42

Perhaps they decided not to display the poppies so as not to upset other minorities as seems to be the thing nowadays. :-|
