Do you think I might be eligible for a grant to study this thread? ;-)

Did I mention? ............. we live in "The Pink Triangle" :-)

Not named by me, no idea who started it; no idea who (if anyone) did a survey......... but we are told our area has the highest per capita of gay people in Australia.

Does it matter? NO!

What really annoys me, is that these people get funding!!
First survey "Using eye tracking devices to record pupil dilation, researchers studied the physiological sexual responses of 345 women when shown photographs of both naked men and women."
Pupil dilation is not necessarily a physiological sexual response. Why does the optician/eye specialist sometimes put a dilating liquid into your eye - it's not to see your 'physiological sexual response'. Eyes dilate for many reasons - a change of picture for example.

As for the cats - they're a hunting species. They are carnivores. So are ladybirds - it's more likely a host of ladybirds would try to eat you than a single cat!!
It's not the cat that's neurotic - it's the 'academic' who's doing the survey!!

When my dad worked in Saudi, at lunchtime, he sometimes used to bring cheetahs home, mainly for the walk, and take them back after lunch.
These weren't 'tame' cheetah's, they were kept in small cages (hence his walking them home - a bit of exercise). He inter-acted with them when he could, but whilst walking them home, they could have gone for him at any time - they didn't.

I stayed with him for 6 months, when I was 17. One day he brought home a mother and 2 cubs, aged about 6 months. The mother was tied up, the cubs were free.
I went into the garden, sat down away from them, just to watch them.
One of the cubs came up to me. In half an hour, I'd taught her to sit, and catch/fetch a ball - easier than training a dog!!
The mother could have 'created' - she didn't. Those cubs could have bitten me - they didn't. Why? Because I wasn't neurotic, wasn't scared, wasn't aggressive, domineering or loud. I didn't scare them - they had no reason to attack me. Also, they were kn*ckered - it was a long walk from the zoo!!
After a couple more visits, the other cub came over, and soon learnt the 'tricks' I taught his sister - and I stroked mummy (who was lovely) :-D

About as stupid as this one

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3297923/Cats-neurotic-probably-trying-work-kill-say-researchers.html

Apart from anything else, they studied cats from shelters, cats that probably didn't have the best experience of humans in the first place. :-|

Have they nothing better to do?
