Evening all - long time no see :-)

This afternoon my youngest daughter gave birth to her first child, my 2nd grandson. Apparently, she chose to have a water birth whilst in hospital and it all seemed to go well, until she lifted her newborn out of the water onto her chest. This caused the umbilical cord to snap and cause bleeding. He has now been transferred to another hospital for special care, although they have been assured this is for only for precautionary reasons - he mostly seems quite well, but they are concerned about his breathing.

I've been anxious for 2 days - now this :-(

Daughter has been in touch and sent a couple of photos. He is in an incubator and will be kept in for a few days for observation, but she was able to have cuddles with him last night and she said it was magical :-)

He looks beautiful, of course :-D

We are going to see him later on this morning - I can't wait!
