Detective, Mum has had everything reimbursed and £100 compensation. Mum never told us she was having trouble. She was using her credit card to get by and using my dads cash that he had left to pay the card. But all her direct debits were not being paid. When she told us my brother took her to the bank and took control.xx

To send flowers I go onto the computer and find a florist in the area I want to send and order online. Sometimes they are so close to where you want the flowers to go you don't get a delivery charge.

Daughter was sending my sister a birthday bouquet and told me she was going to go through Interflora and I explained what I did. My sister received a much bigger bouquet from a florist 2 streets from where she lives and daughter didn't spend quite so much as she was going to. :-)

Hope you get it all sorted out soon We never realise how complicated our lives have got do we? Thinking of you Shirley. :-) <3

Sorry that you have had so much trouble - at least switching hasn't been as bad as some reported in the press. The provider wouldn't cancel the account until they'd spoken to the account holder. Um - he'd died?

Grannie Annie - unless your mum has already received an apology and has had the interest charges waived or reinbursed, try taking it up with the Banking Omsbudsman or asking CAB to help write out a complaint. They've probably come across similar instances and know the correct course of action.

Shirley, I feel for you, it's very difficult.
My mum died in Portugal. We cancelled everything we could. As mum's husband had died 2 years earlier, it was all in mum's name, but we weren't allowed access to her Portuguese account. We were expected to go out again after 6 months.
I found a little 'Casio' thing with names and numbers in it. I saw her dog had some sort of account! We went to the bank and realised this was her ATM number.
It was obvious what we did next! :-D

it's awful - been there - done it - mostly on auto pilot - didn't hit the snags you're hitting but my biggest problem was with the TV licence which was in Lawrence's name - I asked to change it to mine and they demanded a death certificate!! I went absolutely ballistic - told them that loads of people didn't even bother to get a licence and now way was I giving them a death certificate - so they changed it to my name

Shirley, so sorry you have had a bad day. As you know my dad died in Feb and my poor mum has been to hell and back with the bank. Only just been sorted out 3 weeks ago. She had no money wha'ts so ever and lived on her credit card to survive but no direct debits were paid. They had frozen the bank account even though she had given them all the paper work back in March. Her pension was still going in though. Thinking of you Shirley and take one day at a time xx Grannie Annie

You wonder what you need to do and all of a sudden a couple of appointments and phone calls and weekly shop that needs doing all come together

Had a nasty moment yesterday when I phoned our solicitor for hubby's original will to be told sorry they went out of business !!!!. BUT the wills are in storage so we can get them and pass it over to you on production of hubbies death cert and proof of your ID.

So did the dental , picked up hubbies will, and went shopping . Hubbies sister is 80 on the 13 th and I wanted to send her some flowers but our usual florist no longer does interflora or similar which was disappointing but I had other ideas

Parked up for the bank and did the business and then walked along to another florist ,they don't do interflora but a cheaper version so placed my order to send flowers to SIL,for her 80th on the 13th

It is all coming together . Lots of phone calls to change account names and bank details for the monthly direct debits . Guess who is the the most awkward ??? Well it's virgin media who we have the phone and internet with .

We had sky tv that I paid for and they have taken a 30 day cancellation ok .

Hubby paid the Internet and phone and I want to go with them for that and tv but they don't seem to have their act together. Very frustrating

We did get a mobile too on one of their offers which is in hubbies name but is my phone ,thought it had been sorted ,account name changed bank account details given for debit BUT they sent me a text saying I was now on PAYG why!? yesterday they had just transferred the account over to my name and bank direct debit account

Rang them today and not impressed . The lady answering I couldn't understand, she
had a very marked Indian accent and spoke so quickly she lost me . I was transferred to another dept to a guy with an Indian accent who seemed to be reading from a script!!! Well we did finally ,hopefuily, get it sorted . I keep the mobile ,same number, same taffiff but cheaper m tariff as I am keeping the same phone .

They said will confirm by email but nothing received as yet

The tv/ internet package is a,bit different. He paid for phone and internet,I paid for sky tv. Have cancelled sky and have just spoken to nice guy who said they were closing hubbies accounts.NOOO don't cut me off phone and internet I need to be online and keep the same phone nos. so think it's sorted, it's not cut off, the package is uodated and a new TiVo box will go in early dec,

It's all a big worry getting things sorted

To be honest now I just want to get the funeral done , its going to be a stressful day to say farewell but I feel in limbo till we move on .

Have had a tearful day today too as folks ask what went on and I have had to talk .

Hubby's sister is 80 on the 13th and I have arranged for flowers to be sent ,that was awful too as I would normaly sign off from both of us and was only loads of love from me !!

Big adjustments need to be done now :-(
