:-(

We bought it 25 years ago! and...... it was in storage for five of those years.

It sort of works....... half works......... only the inside elements....... so we get half toasted bread.

I hope to replace it with a similar one..... Sunbeam :-)

I would write to them and explain what's happened to your toaster, they might send you a new model.

Himself really likes his toast :-) ... he couldn't wait!

Our old one was a 4-slicer........ he went shopping today and got the only toaster in the shop........ a 2-slicer! :-( But it's a Sunbeam!!

I wonder who will get the first two slices of toast when we use it? :-S

On the subject of toast........ how do you like yours? Barely toasted (how I like it) or burned black?

We were amazed the toaster lasted so long...... they usually only have a lifespan of a few years.

On the other hand........ in the last 30 years, I think we've had at least 10 coffee makers (but they do get more use than a toaster).... except for a small espresso maker we bought about 20 years ago, and it's still going strong.

We have recently replaced our four holer with a three holer (have you read The Specialist?).

Our four slice one was given to us by a neighbour who buys incessantly from the shopping channels and has to chuck things away, mostly unused, to make room for more and it was the one that Desmond burned his bum on when he jumped on the work top.

I always buy Morphy Richards for anything small and electrical because they have given us really good customer service over the years and have some really excellent offers on their website, but you have to e a bit quick to catch them sometimes.

As for toast, I like mine just sort of average really. We call very underdone toast Mibby toast because toast in Namibia is not much more that warmed up bread and you have to ask them to wind up the toaster twice.

Their toasters are one a timer, albeit not a very long timer, that you twist round.

LOL Sharron,
I refer to my toast, coffee, in a similar fashion, by nationality......
