He didn't retire until 2007 and at the end of his career played for Cardiff.
Surprisingly, he never won a World Cup although he is record holder for most tries scored in the competition.

An unforgettable Player. I remember watching one WC game NZ v England. Within the first few minutes he powered down the wing knocking England players over like skittles.
A great loss to his country and the Game.

A wonderful player, career cut short by illness.

So sad to hear of the death of Jonah Lomu. He will be missed, a man much admired in all parts of the (rugby playing) world.

I'm very saddened to read of this news, Sue!

Jonah Lomu was a legend!

Lomu had suffered from health problems since his retirement from playing in 2002 due to the rare kidney disease, Nephrotic syndrome. He had been on dialysis treatment for the past 10 years.
