Eh? Sylvia, this is the first time I've seen or posted on this thread. You probably meant Rose ;-)

However, I'd agree with everything already said. Hot Matches are computer generated & the Boards are self regulated. Technical staff might respond to new minor problems if they are frequently 'reminded'.

DET

The system checked my tree in May, June, July, August and September .............. and found 2 NEW Hot Matches in September, none in the other months. Nothing since September.

The Hot Matches were apparently with a relation with whom I now have 30 matches :-)

Errol of course is quite right ................... the searches were all done by computer and never ever involved live people in the office :-D

The hot match software is still working and you should find when it last checked your tree on the home page under My Updates.

For my tree the system checked for matches on 31 July, 9 Aug, 18 Oct, 21 Oct and 14 Nov this year. On three occasions it found one match (all correct matches) and no matches on the other two.

um, erm, I don't think there ever was anyone diligently checking each and every tree for connections lol
It's what computers do.

Incidentally, I wonder what the Competition and Markets Authority/Monopolies and Mergers Commission etc etc or whatever they are called this week, would have to say about things.

I haven't had any searches or Hot Matches for months and months ...... and I don't miss them, as most of them found matches that were unconnected

for example, Mary Evans born 1650 matched with Joan Johns born 1900 o.O

But as DET says, the owners now seem to regard GR as member supported and monitored.

They are concentrating on the other site, FMP

Rambling Report 26 Nov 2015 19:48

I don't think there IS anyone in the office, the site is so far as I can tell unmonitored and unloved by its owners ... the admin are basically non existent now, and no tech updates have been made ( faults not rectified for years... the adv search for example ) but even when they were here and hot matches sent (apparently) the only time I received a 'hot match' when I had a tree on here was for a person called Mary surname unknown that 'matched' with my Mary surname known and born in a different country.

If you want to find a match you'll basically have to look for it yourself I'm afraid :-)

Have not had anyone from the office do any searches on my Family Tree for connections why.
