knee pain after hip replacement

My cousin had the same experience, he thinks is was a change in the way he walked after the hip op. Seems to be better now and he hasn't mentioned it lately.
Still worth telling your GP though.

Thank you Barbara and Sue. I feel sure, as there does not seem to be much wrong with my knee, re exray, that it must be something like you both suggest.

The surgeon suggested cortisone injection, but did not answer the questions as why.
I have appointment with GP Tuesday, will see what he suggests.

Speak with your physio, you may be altering your gait to compensate for pain or difference in leg length.

Hello Sue a friend of ours had the op twelve months ago .he was in pain .on strong pain killers ..think because of your new installed hip your knee is taking the strain have a chat with your GP ..hope it improves for you .ps don't look on the internet it can make you worry .I have checked on the internet myself & my GP said no talk to someone ,Barbra

Hi all,

Have recently had a hip replacement op., and all ok there, but I have now got severe pain in my knee. I see from internet this is fairly common, and I wondered if anyone else has had this happen, and what the outcome was.
