The old incandescent bulbs will use a fair bit if left on all the time. However as mentioned, the newer led ones are much more efficient. |

We have solar ones in the consevatory but they don't get enough 'charge' to stay on all night this time of year. Our other garden lights are on a timer. |

We have wired in garden lights that are on a timer that gets adjusted as the dusk alters , they use the LED bulbs |

A lot of the smaller packs you can buy are LED which could be a lower wattage. |
