The old incandescent bulbs will use a fair bit if left on all the time. However as mentioned, the newer led ones are much more efficient.

We bought a new set this year to go outside. 240 leds total rating less than 5 watts so they will cost only about 15 pence (i.e. 1kw hr) to run for 200 hours.....!

We have solar ones in the consevatory but they don't get enough 'charge' to stay on all night this time of year. Our other garden lights are on a timer.

We have wired in garden lights that are on a timer that gets adjusted as the dusk alters , they use the LED bulbs

Got solar ones too that do their own thing

A lot of the smaller packs you can buy are LED which could be a lower wattage.

Your neighbours must have deep pockets and black-out curtains if they leave them on all night. We put our string of fairy lights on a timer. It saves having to go out to the garage to switch them off!

Garden Christmas lights appear to be left on all night. Is it because they're solar, or do some people have too much money?
If many more neighbours put out blue garden 'Christmas' lights that stay on all night, I'll soon be able to read without having a light on!!! :-| :-D

Has the concept of wattage disappeared? These things are way above the old 100 watts, they're like static search lights.
Whatever happened to the gentle glow of red and green lights :-(
